Thankfulness

Today was quite chilly here in Salmon Arm, however, it's just a glimpse of what's yet to come!  I tried to hold John off, but, he did go downtown and purchase thermal underwear.  Rest assured, he will be wearing them until that blessed day we get to go back to our beautiful Belize!  The girls can't quite process it being so sunny and beautiful looking and then going outside and feeling complete panic at how cold you are!  We had to laugh when Evangeline put on her snow coat with her capris and flip flops and started heading out the door.

I love the journey of motherhood and all the twists and turns, ups and downs.  I am learning so much, more than I can process in the flickers of time I have to myself throughout the day.  I am grateful I learned from a very young age how to "hide the word in my heart", as frequently throughout the day I remember verses and pray them out.  I may not be able to sit and have a 30 min quiet time in the Word, but I can keep my heart continually surrendered to Him in all things, allowing Him to speak to me.

Our time in Canada has been amazing to say the least.  We both have enjoyed being here, downloading, and refocusing for the journey again.  It's hard to imagine that we have never taken any significant time off since going into missions in 2004.  Little breaks here and there, but it was a much needed time to reconnect, regroup and be refueled again.  It's amazing how much the little things can mean to us when we are not around them all the time.  Trips to the library, the pond, STARBUCKS, gynmastics and swimming lessons for the girls, entering one store for everything you need... it can all be pretty overwhelming, however, I am staying in the moment and loving it all.

The girls have had a cold/flu, one after the other for the past 3 weeks, along with Evangeline having an ear infection and now Charlotte is the last to get the cold/flu.  Even as I'm sitting here all three girls snoring, we will do one more round of Vicks before bed.  We would appreciate prayers for health and strength to be returned quickly!  Mom and dad are very tired, we have had many sleepless nights.

Homeschool has been going well, we are getting into the groove of things. Of course there's always lots of time for dress up and play!  It's a whole new world moving from just mommy to 'teacher'.  It is so special we get to be in Canada for Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend.  We have so many things to be thankful for.  Our verse this week has been, "All my days I will praise and honor you, Oh God, for all the things you have done for me" Ps. 71:8.  How fitting!  We even got to do a fun turkey craft, the girls loved it, after the little vegetarians got over the fact of how gross turkies are lol.

Thanks again for all of your thoughts, prayers and support for our family during this time.  Many friends have been long term supporters for many years and we are so grateful for each and every one of you!

Thank you!!
