Hey Everybody, it is so good to be back home after being in the Dominic Republic at our
Caribbean conference. It was such a powerful time of input. The presence of God
was in our midst.
We
had leaders and staff from all the YWAM bases in the Caribbean present. As base
leaders we had to be there earlier for meetings. During our time together we
talked about Gods covenant with us as a ministry and His heart for the
Caribbean region.
The
planning committee felt like God gave them three words as the theme for the conference:
“Encounter”, “Intimacy”, and “Innovation”. The verse was Exodus 3:1-14, the story about Moses and his
encounter with the burning bush.
Our heart was to do exactly what Moses did, to stop, turn aside and
encounter the living God. It is
God and God alone who will speak to our heart, cleanse and heal our soul and
assure you that His presence will stay with you as you endure to advance His
kingdom.
We had an array of great
speakers including, Jim Stier – a pioneer of YWAM Brazil in 1974 and has been
serving the country ever since.
Bruce Kuhn – performed on Broadway and now tours the world with various
solo presentations, telling the events of the Bible the way an eye witness
would. Bruce Lengeman – friend of
YWAM, pastor and speaker. These
were the main speakers who were amongst many other rich YWAMers serving and
speaking in several optional sessions.
For
me, God really used this time to jolt my heart as hard as it was being there
without my girls; the intimacy I experienced with God was truly life
changing. God spoke to my heart
showing areas I needed to grow in and things I was holding onto that I needed
to release to Him. I heard Him
saying, “You can’t do it on your own, my strength is made perfect in your
weakness, and release the things you are holding onto, to me”. I don’t think I’ve ever cried so hard
in my life.
I
was encouraged seeing all the initiatives across the Caribbean and as a region
there are things that we believe God for to release greater levels.
Please
join with us to believe God for more laborers to join with us in our service to
Him.
