Catch the wave Singapore 2014 August 24th - September 4th review.
When I was ask to pray about going, I was very skeptical at first, I didn't want to go cause I just got back from the Caribbean conference, I did not know what to expect. But after praying about it with Patti we both felt God said “GO!!" and in total obedience to God we jump in with both feet and it was war leading up to the time which confirmed to me it was going to be a historic time in YWAM. God was for sure getting ready to do something and the devil was not happy about it not one bit.
There were missionaries from all over the world all leaders in there area and apart of YWAM, it was a YWAM Family Gathering. I was Blown away to see so many different cultures and background but all of us having the same Kingdom Worldview.
This trip for me was such a life changing encounter with the living God Jesus Christ.
Seeing the way He lead us as a family and the way He just enjoy our times together, I saw so clearly the power of the family and how much joy it brings to the Father's heart.
As I look back now at our time I remember the first thing that came to mind as I walk into the main meeting hall and listening to all the conversation happening all around the room, old friends reconnecting trying to remember where it was and when it was they were together. Seeing the hearts reconnect was so powerful and you could just sense one artery flowing through all the talk and all the reconnection being made; An encounter with God. Everyone was recalling that time they encounter, see, walk, experience, the presence of God together. And you could just feel the thick dwelling presence of God in the place as He just enjoyed the family time. I remember saying "This is a wild bunch, who is the Father of these kids?" knowing full well that it was God and He just love seeing His kids play nicely together.
We had some amazing times of Worship and great Teaching times
David Damian was our speaker for some of the morning times and the word of The Lord came through him with so much authority and power. He spoke on the presence of God vs a visit from God. So many of us are happy with just a visit from God cause nothing have to change for a visit, but if we want the presence of God. The ALWAYS dwelling never leaving presence of God then things have to change we must die to self. He also talk about us building our own towers building a name for ourselves and God asking us to give up our will in that Jesus saying "If you do what you want to do I will bless you but if you do what I want you to do you will bless my heart" God wanted us to remove the areas that was holding us back from being the bride He has called us to be no one thinking of himself/ herself better then the other we are one family.
Loren Cunningham spoke about the great wave that is coming and how we are to get ready for it's coming. He talk about we are never to build towers but alters. Gen. 11. When God showed him the vision of the wave it was God calling us to build alters to Him and for a season we got off track and starting to build towers. God spoke through John Dawson that "the word of The Lord was fading" and as a ministry we went into a time of seeking and God show us how far off track we had drifted which we then went into a time of repentance and in 2002 God spoke to us the we hit the rock and have stop drifting we recommitted to God and stop building towers and went back to God's blueprint and build alters to God. Loren also inspired us towards the Great Commission looking at all aspect of it "GO INTO ALL THE WORLD AND TEACH.. Matt. 28: 18-20, Mark 16: 18-19. He also talk about the ALLS AND THE EVERYS of the great commission and how we are to find creative ways to include them into the story. He talk about the power of the Bible and how he is calling us to see to it that every home on earth have a bible in it in there heart language and he showed us how it can be accomplished by the year 2020 a great part of the wave if we are all ready to play our part.
We heard story after story from our missionaries all over the world. Jesus is winning but there is so much more work to be done.
As the week went on we all can feel a deep bond forming in our hearts towards one another the family of YWAM took form. We love each other, care for each other, and wanted the best for each other. I felt so loved, the together times we had was so powerful.
As we look to the future we see how God wants to lead us and as we give Him the place to lead we walk into new levels of authority and faith.
